Godman's Mountain Pitviper (Cerrophidion godmani)

Godman's Mountain Pitviper, Cerrophidion godmani
The complex of Godman's Mountain Pitviper (Cerrophidion godmani s.l.) is widespread in the highlands from Mexico to Panama. Recent phylogenetic analyses revealed cryptic species thoughout the range of this species complex, resulting in the descritpon of two new species (Jadin et al. 2012). Hence, Godman's Mountain Pitviper (Cerrophidion godmani s.s.) is endemic to southern Mexico and Guatemala. This individual is unusually orangish.
