Swainson's Thrush (Catharus ustulatus)

A council of Swainson's Thushes (Catharus ustulatus) 😃 Swainson's Thrush is a common wintering bird in Guatemala, but during a few days towards the end of April, it becomes truly abundant in many Guatemalan forests. In some areas you may hear the liquid chuk-call of 3-5 birds at the same time at any given point in the forest. This is the time of high-peak spring migration of these thrushes in Guatemala, when countless birds pass through the country on their way from their wintering grounds in southern Central America and northern South America to their breeding grounds in North America.
