Brushfoots of the genus Oxeoschistus occur in humid highland forests from Mexico to the Andes in South America. Dot-banded Oxeo (Oxeoschistus hilara) is endemic to southern Mexico and northern Central America (Pyrcz et al. 2020). This one was seen in cloud forest near Antigua Guatemala.
