Black-headed Siskin
Precision tweezers: Black-headed Siskins (Spinus notatus) are endemic to the highlands of Mexico and northern Central America. The strong base of their bills combined with the fine tips enables them to pull out seeds from tight spaces such conelets of alders (Alnus spp.) and seeding heads of thistles (Asteraceae).
